SIFA Fireside has developed an effective client volunteering programme, and recently launched a new social enterprise ChangeKitchen with Bsustained. This new initiative offers catering training and paid employment to trainees who are clients of SIFA Fireside.

Other work in the Region

A champion organisation in the West Midlands is P3. P3 are based in Derbyshire, and provide services in a number of regions including London.

P3 have been committed to employing clients since the arrival of their Chief Executive, Martin Kinsella. P3 contributed to the research that culminated in Kevin Ireland’s Walking the Walk report, and you can read case studies of some P3 workers in the report.

P3 also co-hosted our conference in February 2010 in Stoke-on-Trent and you can see the views of P3 clients on the principles of employing people with an experience of homelessness and service use here.

Also doing fantastic work in the West Midlands is Brighter Futures based in Stoke-on-Trent. Brighter Futures employ current and former clients in a range of roles across the organisation. You can read a case study of how Brighter Futures experience here.
