Better Services for Londoners

Response to proposed future commissioning priorities for the Association of London Government’s Grants Scheme, March 2006

Thames Reach supports the ALG’s continuing commitment to prioritising services that meet pan-London needs. However, we would like to see greater priority given to people with the most severe needs and who are most socially excluded.

There should be a greater emphasis on the ways in which ALG money can be used alongside other funding streams.

The ALG should also consider asking service providers to propose how they would deliver services to meet the ALG's strategic needs, so that commissioning is guided by the needs of service users rather than services currently available.
