PLEASE NOTE: recruitment for the apprenticeship/trainee programme has started
Please read the information below on how to apply.
We have designed our apprentice/trainee recruitment process to give applicants the opportunity to demonstrate their skills, experience and what they can bring to Thames Reach. We have taken time to ensure that each stage of the process is fair and consistent and enables applicants to give their best.
Stage 1: Application form
You need to complete an application form. An application pack can be obtained by:
If you have any queries regarding the delivery of your application pack or receipt of your returned application form, please call 0845 055 0261.
Applications will be assessed from the information you provide. You therefore need to demonstrate clearly your capabilities in relation to each of the criteria listed in the person specification, taking in to account the job you are applying for.
It is essential that evidence or examples are given of your experience against each criteria. For instance, it is easy to say you have liaised with clients to identify and respond to their needs; however, it is essential that you give examples of how you have used these skills and what you have achieved.
If you have had experience of homelessness you can use this to provide examples of skills and experience relevant to the person specification and support the information provided.
Application forms should be returned by 28th November 2011 to:
Post: Penna Resourcing, PO Box 50233, London, EC4A 4YZ
Email: tr@penna.com
Your application will be assessed by a panel. Those applicants who are short-listed will be invited to attend an information day, followed by an interview.
We have limited resources and are unable to respond to all the applications we receive, therefore, if you have not heard from us within three weeks of the closing date then your application should be considered unsuccessful on this occasion.
We will contact shortlisted candidates by telephone to invite them to the next stage.
Stage 2: Information Day
If you are shortlisted, you will be invited to attend an information day at our Graham House hostel in Vauxhall on 9th December 2011.
The information session will be an opportunity to find out what the apprenticeship/trainee programme will entail and the day-to-day activities of a support worker trainee.
Further details will be sent to shortlisted applicants.
Stage 2: Face-to-Face Interviews
You will be invited to attend an interview, which will allow us to assess your suitability for the apprenticeship/trainee programme. You will be interviewed by a panel, rather than just one person, to increase our objectivity.
The panel will be made up by Thames Reach employees who understand the role of a apprentice/trainee and have experience of working within the homeless sector.
We understand that people can feel nervous at interviews. Try not to worry as we will make every effort to make you feel at ease.
Interviews will take place between 13th December to 15th December 2011.
